Days' sales outstanding (also called average collection period) measure’s the average number of days a business takes to collect its trade receivables. It is an asset management ratio and gives information about the efficiency of sales collection. A low DSO number means that it takes a company is quickly collecting its accounts receivable. A high DSO number shows that a company is taking longer to collect money.
